Steven Huff is a video producer and motion graphics/effects artist living in the Charlotte, North Carolina region.
Steve works closely with Sharelle Quick, a media specialists and web master, under the name Compass Media Productions.

The Space to Earth segment was created by Huff in Adobe After Effects CS4 and Photoshop . The earth globe and the earth zoom levels were done entirely using 2-D stills with an effect learned from Andrew Kramer. The satellite and electric arcs are royalty-free stock animations. The star field was created in After Effects using the fractal noise effect.

The "Real Estate Today" show opener clip is combination of custom graphics and royalty free stock animations. Huff created the opener and was Executive Producer of the show for 3 years.

The "Sports Night" Promo piece was created using After Effects CS4, Photoshop, Digital Juice Fonts, RF animations, and a brief piece of actual footage from the show. The brief clip from the show was not produced by Huff but the remainder of the promo was composited by him.

The "Hampton Inn & Suites" piece is a 30 second commercial spot for the Ocean Front Resort in Myrtle Beach to promote the pleasant weather even in the off season. The brief opening shot of the couple on the beach and girl on beach towel are stock. The rest is custom created and animated using stills. The dolly shot up the beach, past the girl, toward the hotel is a still image with a 3-D camera projection technique to create the "parallax" look created when a real camera does a dolly shot like this.

The "Life In The Carolinas" Christmas Special Promo Piece was created by Huff using a combination of stock holiday animations, show footage. Huff and Quick worked jointly with others to tape the event live in Myrtle Beach, including fixed camera and crane work.
Post production of the show and the motion graphics work in the promo piece were done by Huff.

The "Life In The Carolinas" Show Opener segment features a "travel log" leather covered book opening to a map of the Carolinas. This was created by Huff in Photoshop and After Effects with show segments masked into the pages. Kudos to the trainers at Digital Juice for the initial inspiration behind this concept. The book cover, pages, table top, and animations are all CGI composited by Huff in AE. Huff used Trapcode Shine to create the animated glint on the gold text. Note: Huff has provided post production services for all the episodes of this show and created all motion graphics used in the show today.

The "Queen City Shootout" piece was entirely Produced by Huff. The event, a Texas Hold 'Em poker tournament fundraiser for the benefit of Make A Wish, was held at Whisky River in Charlotte, NC. Huff and his crew video taped the event and conducted the interviews. Huff did the post production and created the custom motion graphics for it.

The "Don Dixon" Concert was taped by Huff and his crew as a three camera shoot including a fixed position tripod mounted camera, a jib/crane mounted camera, and a roving hand-held shooter. Huff did post production in Adobe Premiere CS4 and the motion graphics in After Effects.

The "Waxhaw July 4th Celebration" was taped by Huff and the Compass Media crew. Again, a crane, fixed location, and roving hand held were used. The motion graphics and lower thirds are stock pieces from the DJ royalty free library. Huff did post production and created a 60-minute television special that aired on Time Warner Cable in the Charlotte region. Huff also produced a DVD with special features of program.
